ATP Unveils New Rules For Doubles Tennis Matches

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) shared new rules for doubles tennis matches on their official social media page, which were previously tested at a Masters tournament in Madrid.

One significant change is that 32 pairs will make it to the main draw of tournaments based on a combined doubles ranking.

Furthermore, players will not be allowed to drink or sit on the bench during switching sides in the first set. There were also some changes regarding breaks: a pause between points lasting three shots or fewer will be 15 seconds, while those exceeding four shots will have a 25-second break; the break between sets will commence immediately after the end of a game and will last one minute.
