American UFC fighter Justin Gaethje has spoken out about the upcoming fight between the promotion's former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and Khamzat Chimaev, which will take place on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.
Telecomasia.net correspondent quotes Gaethje as saying:
I came to support Kamaru Usman, he called everyone to Abu Dhabi and I agreed. Whoever fights better will win because anything can happen at any moment. Right now we are talking about a legend. Usman is a worthy opponent, he will be challenging for Chimaev.
Chimaev's last fight was against Kevin Holland in September 2022 at UFC 279. In this confrontation, Khamzat won with a choke hold in the first round. He has 12 wins and no losses on his record.
Usman last entered the octagon against Leon Edwards in March of this year at UFC 286. That fight went the full distance and ended with Kamaru losing by majority decision. He has 20 wins and three losses on his record.
