SDNLab, a media and service platform associated with the Jiangsu Future Networks Innovation Institute, has joined the OpenDaylight Project, an open source platform for programmable, software-defined networks.

The partnership seeks to further promote open source SDN and NFV in China.

SDNLab is expected to expand OpenDaylight’s reach into the China market by helping to build the local community.

The firm has been heavily involved with the OpenDaylight community already, and integration between the two groups includes the creation of OpenDaylight and OpenFlow demos into Chinese, translation of OpenDaylight content into Chinese--including the recent ODL Performance Report, Wiki page, and various news and technology articles-- and the establishment of OpenDaylight’s Youku page.

Neela Jacques, executive director of OpenDaylight, said “As OpenDaylight and open source continues to see explosive growth in China, we place high value on our engagement with local partners and members.”

“Our partnership with SDNLAB is crucial to building OpenDaylight to help shape the community in China,” the executive said.

The two organizations will continue to work closely to further build the OpenDaylight community, spread awareness of open source SDN/NFV technologies and progress toward more open, programmable networks across the globe.
