The Cape Town Met, also known as Cape Metropolitan Stakes and previously called the J and B Met is a Grade 1 thoroughbred horse racing event that takes place at the Kenilworth Racecourse, Cape Town South Africa. The Cape Town met is among the three main horse races in South Africa alongside the Durdan July and the Summer Cup. JnB Met race first took place in 1883 as the Metropolitan Mile and it is run over 2000 meters.

The Sunmet has had several sponsors over the years. J&B Whiskey was the sponsor from 1977 to 2016. During the time of their sponsorship, the race was called J&B Met. Sun International became the sponsor in 2017, and the race was called the Sun Met. In 2022, World Sports Betting (WSB), a top betting site in South Africa became the race sponsor, giving it the name World Sports Betting Cape Town Met. 

The Cape Met 2025 event will take place on Saturday, January 25th at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse, Cape Town from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. Fans are looking forward to thrilling horse racing, extraordinary fashion, and top-notch entertainment.
