USA vs Turkey Prediction: Favorite to triumph

These teams have never faced each other. The Americans don't care, but it would be better for the Turks to have at least some experience playing one of the strongest teams in the world. But they don't yet. So now is the time.

Team USA

The Americans won only two out of three matches in their group, but they outplayed everyone in the number of blocks, including Poland. However, in each match, their advantage in blocks was expressed only by one point.

Serving aces is another matter. The Americans were superior to all their opponents in this domain too, but their advantage was more significant: from two points with the Polish players to four points with the Bulgarians.

All told, the Americans served 19 aces in 10 games in the group tournament – well, almost two aces per set. In return, they received exactly 10.

And finally, the U.S. team won all of the first sets in the group.

Team Turkey

The Turks got a similar result in aces: they even beat Italy, which they lost to three to nil. But they lost to Canada in this component, which they beat by three to nil. American and Canadian volleyball are essentially the same thing, just that the U.S. team has a much higher class of players. All told, the Turkish team had 17 aces and 11 conceded in nine games. Canada had seven.

If all goes well in Sunday's game, we can count on double-digit number of aces even in a three-set game. Well, at least more than 9.5.

Expert Betting Tips

It is clear that the US team is considered the favorite in this match. We'd be happy to challenge the bookmakers, but we don't have the slightest reason to. We don't think the Turkish team has much of a chance of winning, unless they can clinch the game somehow. Well, the Bulgarians played a set against the Americans on the balance. Here's what we suggest betting on:

– 1st Set USA Handicap (-3.5) for 1.70;

– Aces TO 11.5 for 1.90;

– Correct Score 3-1 for 3.18.
