23-year-old left-handed Humbert is seeded 8th in Stuttgart and the world number 48. He turned professional in 2016 and since then has won five titles in the Challenger circuit. Humbert likes to play on the offensive and volley. He had a stinker during the clay season, falling at the first round in Madrid and at Roland Garros. He didn’t even make it past qualifying in Rome. Stuttgart will be his first grass tournament this year. Albeit he holds an 8-2 record on the surface going back the last 12 months.
Arthur Rinderknech (WWWWW)
26-year-old Rinderknech arrives in Stuttgart after winning the Poznan open where he was the top seed. The Challenger series event was held on the outdoor clay surface. World number 60, Rinderknech reached his first ATP finals in January at the Adelaide International 2 (Hard) losing to wildcard Thanasi Kokkinakis. He has a 6-2 record on grass in the past 52 weeks.
Expert Betting Tips
In spite of his better recent record, Rinderknech is a huge underdog in this match. The Poznan Open is a challenger circuit event and in his only match against Ugo Humbert in 2018 in Marseille, he lost 1-2. Humbert has been forcing his way up the ATP rankings in recent years and will see this as another opportunity to continue his rise. With an 80% record on grass in the last 12 months, it’s obvious that this is his more comfortable surface, easy for his serve and volley game. We say a win for Ugo.
