Nadal continues his wild winning streak. In 2022, the Spaniard won three tournaments on two continents. After losses to Zverev, Medvedev, and Tsitsipas in California, he is quoted as the big favorite for the Indian Wells tournament. The next opponent for the fourth-ranked player of the world will be compatriot American, Taylor Fritz, who will be cheered on by the stands.

Nadal is on the decline, it's obvious. However, the Spaniard is not used to back down and lose, especially since in the Masters final he finally got lucky with his opponent. The tournament in Indian Wells was very difficult for Rafa, primarily because of the calendar. Every of his opponents was not the most convenient for Nadal. The Spaniard lost sets to Alcaraz and Kyrgios. Opelka played two tie-breaks against #4 in the world. We believe that it's time for Nadal to exhale and win the match in two sets without too much stress.

For Taylor the final of the California Masters is a great success. Fritz knocked out Majchrzak, Munar, de Minaur, Ketsmanovich and Rublev. Compare Fritz and Nadal's path. The inequity of the calendar is evident. Before the California tournament Fritz beat Colombia's Gonzalez in the Davis Cup, and earlier the American fell to Nishioka in Acapulco. With all due respect to Fritz, there is a feeling that the American has no chance against Nadal.

Nadal is clearly not at his peak right now. However, we believe that the finals in Indian Wells won't be as difficult as the three previous matches. Such a mishap.
