Pablo Carreno Busta
Carreno Busta has been in excellent form in the run-up to the year's last Grand Slam. In Montreal, he won his first Masters 1000 championship, defeating Jannik Sinner and Hubert Hurkacz.
This season, the Spaniard has 29 victories and 18 defeats. In the first round at Flushing Meadows, he faced 2020 US Open winner Dominic Thiem.
Carreno Busta got off to a sluggish start and lost an early break, but recovered to win the first set 7-5. He controlled the second set but lost the third, giving Thiem hope.
He recovered in time to win the match 7-5, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3.
Alexander Bublik
Bublik faced Hugo Gaston in the first round, which was a difficult encounter. The Frenchman is recognised for his unconventional playing style, which includes several slices and drop shots.
However, the Kazakh was clinical throughout the match, defeating Gaston in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
Expert Betting Tips
Carreno Busta is in the midst of a winning streak and will be eager to keep it going. He has outstanding defensive abilities and goes quickly across the floor. He had a strong first round, hitting 31 winners and eight aces.
Bublik is one of the men's tour's most unexpected players. He possesses a powerful serve and prefers the fast courts at Flushing Meadows. In the first round, he demonstrated his serving brilliance, winning 77% of games on his first serve and smashing 13 aces.
The match will put two opposite styles against one other, with the sturdy Spaniard taking on the erratic Kazakh. A competitive encounter is expected, but Carreno Busta will prevail in the end.
