Madison Keys
In the first round, Keys faced Dayana Yastremska. The 2017 US Open finalist trailed 4-1 in the first set. She then won three consecutive games to tie the game. Over the following several games, the pair held serve. Keys saved three set points and brought the set to a tie-break with the set tied at 6-5. She won the set in a tie-break over Yastremska.
The American broke serve to lead 4-2 in the second set, but then surrendered her serve in the next game. However, Keys took advantage of another break in the next game to take a 5-3 lead. She easily served out the match, winning 7-6 (3), 6-3.
Camila Giorgi
Camila Giorgi made her US Open debut against Anna Bondar. The Italian trailed 3-2 in the first set after losing a break. She promptly broke back to tie the game, but her opponent snatched another break of service to go up 5-3. In the following game, the Hungarian served out the set.
Giorgi was once again on the back foot when she was broken in the second set. However, after trailing 3-2, she won the next four games to capture the set and force a tiebreaker.
She took her previous set's enthusiasm into the last one as well. She surged to a 4-0 lead before Bondar could get on board. The Italian then won the following two games to finish with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 triumph.
Expert Betting Tips
Keys, a US Open semifinalist in 2017, is a superior server, and if Giorgi falters on her own serve, it's game over. With both players playing a similar style of tennis, simply completing their typical aggressive tennis games may result in a flurry of blunders. A more controlled approach might offer them an advantage over the other.
Giorgi hasn't advanced past the second round since her sole fourth-round appearance in New York in 2013. Keys has comfortably won their past two matches and is on track to make it three in a row soon.
