On Sunday, Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti will compete in an all-Italian final in the inaugural Tennis Napoli Cup.

Berrettini advanced to the semifinals by defeating Roberto Carballes Baena and Taro Daniel in straight sets. He was competing for a berth in the final against Mackenzie McDonald.
McDonald raced to a 5-0 lead in the first set, but he struggled to close it out. Berrettini fought back and won three games in a row, but the American claimed the set on his second attempt.
Berrettini led by a break twice in the second set, but McDonald came back on service both times. The set finally went to a tie-break, with the Italian emerging victorious to force a deciding.
Despite laboring physically with a foot ailment, Berrettini had the momentum at this time. He won the final four games of the match to earn a 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-3 triumph. The Italian is in his 12th career final and his first on hardcourt.

Lorenzo Musetti defeated Laslo Djere and Daniel Elahi Galan to go to the semifinals, where he faced Miomir Kecmanovic. The Italian trailed 2-1 after losing a break in the first set. He promptly turned things around, winning four games in a row to lead 5-2 and easily served out the set to win it.
Musetti won the match 6-3, 6-4, thanks to a single break of service midway through the second set. He is presently in his second career final, and his first on hardcourt. He won his first career championship earlier this year at the Hamburg European Open.

Musetti has yet to release a set this week, but he appears to be in top condition. A completely healthy Berrettini could have had a chance, but given the past Wimbledon finalist's physical issues, his younger opponent is expected to win.
