Rock Creek Park Tennis Center (Washington).
In the quarter-finals of the tennis tournament in Washington, world No. 50, Lloyd Harris will meet the world No. 67, Kei Nishikori. The two men have crossed paths once, in 2021, in Dubai. Harris won that match 2-1.
Lloyd Harris’ current form
Lloyd was the biggest sounding Argentine at the tournament, beating Rafa Nadal in three sets, the Spaniard winning the second set 6-1. Before being knocked out by Rafa, Harris came on strong against Sandgren. But the American withdrew from the tournament at 6-4, 1-0 in favour of Lloyd. Before Washington, Harris took part in Atlanta, Mallorca, and Wimbledon tournaments but had little success there.
Kei Nishikori’s current form
Kei won again in Washington. After beating Querrey and Bublik, the Japanese was stronger than Briton Norrie. True, this time, the Asian had to play three sets instead of two. Cameron was stronger in the first game but lost the following two sets by three. Overall, the match lasted two hours and eight minutes, with Nishikori serving five times on two double faults. The Japanese was perfect on the receiving end, with Cameron Kay winning 67% of his points on his second serve. We’ve written before about Nishikori being one of the main favourites to win the tournament overall, and after Nadal’s elimination, even more so.
Expert Betting Tips
Let’s bet on Kei Nishikori again. The Japanese has gained good form, which we saw back at the Olympics in Tokyo. In Washington, the Japanese has only improved the quality of tennis. We will not be surprised if it is the Japanese who will eventually win the tournament in the capital of the USA. Here are the odds for the game: Handicap 1 (-1.5) for 1.89, W1 for 1.70.
