Karolina Muchova
Karolina Muchova is presently ranked outside of the top 200 after failing to play well after returning from injury. Muchova missed a significant amount of time due to injury, and her comeback has been anything from seamless.
A few good wins here and there, like as the one over Maria Sakkari at the French Open, haven't been enough to get her back on track. She is 6-6 since returning, however her recent results have been primarily losses. Her previous event before this one was the Concord challenger, where she won one round before quitting in round two.
That was nearly ten days ago, so Muchova should have recovered from whatever was bothering her, but things haven't been going well for her. We have no clue how she will seem for this match, and even when she was well, it didn't look good.
Ajla Tomljanovic
Ajla Tomljanovic divorced Matteo Berrettini, although the Australian is currently playing better tennis. In Cincinnati, she defeated Paula Badosa and advanced to the quarterfinals. Petra Kvitova performed better, but she still appears to be in good shape ahead of the US Open.
Last year, Karolina Pliskova reached the third round of the event, and she aims to advance higher this year. With a 28-20 record, she's had a very successful year, and a win versus Muchova would put her at 29, which was her entire amount of wins last year.
Tomljanovic's flat groundstrokes and strong serves are ideal for New York tennis. She's also been in great shape recently, as seen by her race in Cincinnati. The draw is difficult, but fair, given that Muchova hasn't been playing excellent tennis in a long time.
Expert Betting Tips
There are far too many red flags surrounding Muchova to support her. Ironically, she is the superior player in her prime, but that is a long time ago.
