The WTA Finals has been in full swing and now just a few games remain as we are past the Group Stage. Players have shown that they have come prepared to close out their season so the flairs have sparked at a huge rate. In this Semi-Finals game, Iga Swiatek takes on Aryna Sabalenka.

Iga comes into this game after defeating Cori Gauff 6-3, 6-0 to continue her dominating ways. It doesn’t matter who Iga is facing, she just keeps winning in two sets, not giving a chance to her opponents. She is yet to lose four games in a set and has won 36 games while losing just 13 games, which sums up her form for the season. Whether there is a power striker or a variation-dependent player, Iga just keeps on dominating the field using her simplistic style of hitting the ball hard. But it doesn’t mean that Iga doesn’t have versatility in her game, she knows how to generate favorable angles and an improved defensive game means she has been in great in terms of returns.
Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka enters the game after defeating Jessica Pegula 6-3, 7-5. Aryna’s usual double faults and unforced errors resurfaced but when she got the serve right, she had an 80% in on first serve and 65% win on second serve. Sabalenka’s usual aggressive style also brought her 5 Aces. She had a 41-21 receiving points advantage while having a 39-38 service points edge. Sabalenka came into the tournament in a poor rhythm and she has done a great job of keeping the ante up against terrific players like Jabeur and Pegula. Can she turn the tables against Iga who has just flat-out blasted the competition? Surely, Saba will like to end the season on a high.
Iga Swiatek vs Aryna Sabalenka Head-to-Head
Iga and Sabalenka have met five times and Iga has won four games. All these meetings have come in the last two years. They last fought it during the US Open where Saba pushed Iga to three sets but Swiatek won the game.

Swiatek has been in a sphere where the rest of her competition is yet to figure out how to find an answer for her. Iga has entered the territory where legends like Stefi Graff, Serena Williams, and Martina Navratilova have been. Sabalenka gave Iga a lot of trouble the last she met Iga and her game style is not that different from Swiatek but Iga has gotten her double-faults and unforced errors way too down compared to Aryna. I believe Iga will have another big win here but Aryna can be the first one to sneak out four games in a set against her during the tournament.
