On Thursday, world no. 21 Frances Tiafoe won his third consecutive straight sets match in the event, advancing to his second Masters 1000 quarterfinal and first in Paris.
The American, who had not been broken in his previous two matches, had a hard fight in the third round, needing an hour and 41 minutes to beat Alex de Minaur 6-3, 7-6. (7-5).

The win extended the Canadian's winning streak to 15 matches, and he is now two victories away from a fourth consecutive final and three wins away from a fourth consecutive triumph.
Over the previous three weeks, Auger-Aliassime has won three consecutive titles in Florence, Antwerp, and Basel, and he has extended his winning streak in Paris.
The world number eight's most recent victory came against French wild card Simon. During a 6-1, 6-3 triumph, Auger-Aliassime served 11 aces, earned 75% of his first serves, and saved both break points. In the competition, he created seven break point opportunities and converted four of them.
Auger-Aliassime, who got a first-round bye, defeated Ymer 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) to advance to the second round.
The 22-year-old, who had previously lost all eight finals, has won four championships from five finals this year, including a win in Rotterdam and a runner-up position in Marseille.
