Filip did not play in 2022 for a long time - after the U.S. Open, more than three months. Since the end of August, we first saw him in an official tournament only in Pune, India, in 2023, where Filip reached the quarterfinals and lost to Bonzi before knocking out Nagal and Mmoh. In Melbourne, he was unlucky already in the first round to meet Holger Rune, now the ninth racket of the world (he also came to Montpellier). In a match against Rune that lasted only two hours and six minutes, Krajinovic took only nine games in three sets. Note that Filip is currently ranked 56th in the ATP.
Aslan Karatsev
In 2023 Aslan played only two tournaments. In Pune, Karatsev, now 98th in the world, reached the semifinals losing to Griekspoor in two games. Karatsev failed the first set on a tiebreak 4-7, winning only one game in the second set. Before that, Karatsev defeated Andujar, Martinez Portero, and van Rijthoven. Both were unlucky with the draw at the AO-2023 because Aslan met in the first round with Grigor Dimitrov, who could have reached the semifinals of the Australian Open. But before Grigor met Novak Djokovic, the winner was already a 10-time AO champion.
Expert Betting Tips
Karatsev played better than Krajinovic in Pune, at least in terms of results. Aslan fought Dimitrov in Melbourne. The match was not easy for Grigor, despite being 3-0, but Krajinovic gave the first round of AO to Rune without resistance. The bookmakers put a similar line on the upcoming meeting, so it is more interesting to bet on the Russian. The main thing is Karatsev's tonus, and he's alright now. Filip is much higher than Aslan in the ATP, but that's not exactly an argument to bet on the Serb.
