Top seed Felix Auger-Aliassime will face World No. 55 Oscar Otte in the second round of the 2022 Firenze Open on Thursday, following a first-round bye.

So far, Auger-season Aliassime's has gone well. He led Canada to the ATP Cup victory and reached the Australian Open semifinals. He won his first professional championship in the Rotterdam Open and finished second the following week in Marseille.
The Canadian had a bad spell that included early exits from Masters 1000 tournaments at Indian Wells, Miami, and Monte Carlo. Auger-subsequent Aliassime's results were steady, with quarterfinal appearances at Barcelona, Estoril, Madrid, and Rome. He finished the clay season by losing in the third round of the French Open.
Despite a strong start to the grass season, he was eliminated in the first round at Wimbledon. Auger-Aliassime fared well in the competitions leading up to the US Open, finishing in the top eight in all three. He did, however, lose in the second round of the US Open.
Following his setback in New York, the Canadian went on to win several excellent matches. In the Davis Cup, he overcame World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, and in the Laver Cup, he defeated Novak Djokovic. Auger-Aliassime played in last week's Astana Open, but fell in the first round against Roberto Bautista Agut
Oscar Otte
In the first round of the Firenze Open, Oscar Otte faced Marton Fucsovics. The German dropped his serve in the first game and was subsequently broken while trying to remain in the set, gifting his opponent the opener.
For the majority of the second set, the two were well matched, until Otte raised his game and won three straight games to claim the set. The German maintained his lead in the final set, taking an early break to lead 3-1.
At this moment, Fucsovics was unable to make any advances. Following the Hungarian's service hold, Otte won the following three games to win the match 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
