The PFL 7 tournament is happening on the night of August 3rd. One of the preliminary bouts will see Russian fighter Sergey Bilostenny sharing the cage with American Tyrell Fortune. The fighters met last year, and it ended in a bit of a blur—Sergey was disqualified after a few elbow strikes to his opponent's head.
If we assess what was happening, it was gross incompetence on the part of the referee. I will not say Sergey did not throw prohibited punches because I saw them myself. But there should have been verbal warnings first. Plus, the referee gave classical commands to the opponent to actively defend himself, and after that, he just stopped the fight and recognized Sergey's defeat as a disqualification. In my opinion, this is total incompetence.
Sergey Bilostenniy
Sergey Bilostenny is a pure knockout artist with experience in ASW, ACA, Open FC, RCC, and Bellator. In the PFL, he only had one bout - beating former UFC fighter Blagoy Ivanov by decision. But he didn't make it to the semifinals because he refused to go to fight Denis Goltsov. In his last eight fights, Bilostenny only suffered one defeat: disqualification.
This fight is certainly an important fight for me. The last bout left questions for me and those who watched it. So this is a good opportunity to close those questions. I always tune in as much as possible and believe in my victory. My team did everything to ensure I got my visa immediately. Thank you very much to all the guys. Such professional work is only in all aspects of our team.
Tyrell Fortune
Like Sergey Bilostenny, Tyrell Fortune prefers to win by knockout, but he hasn't done so in two years. After the fight with the Russians, he had only one more bout, in which he beat Marcelo Golm with a unanimous decision at the PFL 4 tournament.
Expert Betting Tips
The fight will likely play out similarly to the first one, typical for fights involving Fortune. He will likely go on the offensive and provoke the intense punches exchange. However, we've seen that Bilostenny can handle it, and for the second time in a row, he won't break the rules. We don't doubt Sergey will win, but it won't be a quick victory.
