The 34-year-old Georgian fighter is preparing for his sixth fight under the UFC banner. Roman made his promotion debut on July 18, 2020, at UFC Fight Night 172, when Dolidze defeated Khadis Ibragimov by TKO.
Looking at Dolidze's recent performances, one gets the impression that he is only gaining momentum and looks only stronger with each new performance. In his previous fight Roman dealt with tough Kyle Daukaus in 73 seconds, sending him to the hospital with multiple skull fractures. With another impressive win this time around, the Georgian should be able to climb up to top 15 in the division, although there is a possibility that after the fight with Hawes, Roman will move up to light heavyweight.
Phil Hawes
The 33-year-old American has twice tried to make his way to the UFC through Dana White's Contender Series. And if the first time Phil stumbled, the next attempt was successful.
In 2021, Phil was able to make quite a splash, defeating Nassourdine Imavov and Kyle Daukaus. It seemed like the promotion had a new star in the middleweight division, but then Hawes unexpectedly lost by knockout to a not-so-strong Chris Curtis, which cooled down the attention to his person.
In 2022, Phil was able to make a comeback with a TKO over Deron Winn at UFC on ESPN 37.

Expert Betting Tips
Bookmakers see the American as the favorite in this fight. But we think that's a result of underestimating the Georgian fighter. Dolidze was a serious underdog in his fight against Kyle Daukaus, but he absolutely demolished his opponent in the octagon. Obviously, no one has ever seen Roman's limits, he is making noticeable progress from fight to fight.
In addition, there are two obvious advantages of Dolidze: he's much better in anthropometry than Howe (he's 10 centimeters taller) and much more diverse than the American. If Phil is sharpened up for a knockout punch, Roman is comfortable both in a standup and on the ground. We think Dolidze will continue his winning streak in this fight.
Our prediction: Dolidze will win.
