Venue: Mohegan Sun Arena.
On the evening of May 7, another Bellator tournament will take place in Uncasville, where Michael Page and Derek Anderson will fight in one of the main card fights. The fight between the two has already been scrapped twice before (in 2017 and 2019), but this time it looks like it will still take place.
Michael Page: After the loss to Lima, he hasn’t convinced of anything yet
Page went undefeated, unrelenting and humiliating, but was punished by Douglas Lima in May 2019. That fight is still walking around in the publishers with the refrain “your opponent should be respected” or “punishment for showing off.”
After that embarrassment, Michael Page confidently won four fights, but he lost his halo of invulnerability, proving nothing to anyone as three of his opponents were little known.
The 34-year old has 18 wins (11 by KO, 3 by submissions) and only one loss, to Douglas Lima.
Derek Anderson: He has a chance to outlast
Derek Anderson, not exactly a superstar, but he’s a tough fighter, having beaten Patricky Freire (twice), Saad Awad and a few other big names. A base fighter has a record of 17 wins (6 by knockout and 6 by submission) as well as 4 losses (never KO’d).
He’s currently on a three straight win streak and knocked out Killys Mota with a kick in his last fight. This kick, aptly nicknamed “low-kick to the head”, has become a frequent theme of various jokes and memes.
Expert Betting Tips
Everything seemed to be in favor of Page, the height advantage, the tough opposition and even the fact that he’s been punished for his grimaces and will be more careful now. But there are ways to override Page’s punching advantage. Page has proven to be vulnerable.
Anderson wins because of his stamina and toughness. His fighting skills, while not brilliant, are very good, and if he survives the first round, then his chances only increase later.
The bet on Anderson’s win is quite valuable. We’re proposing to bet on such an outcome with odds of 3.30, on Michael Page’s victory with 1.33.
