On the night of August 24 in New York, the PFL 9 tournament season 2023 will be held. In one of the bouts, the Russian fighter Magomed Magomedkerimov will fight for the final of the welterweight division against the American Solomon Renfroe. He is replacing Magomed Umalatov, who withdrew from the fight for an undisclosed reason.

In 2021, he got a shot at Dana White's Contender Series but lost. In the 2023 PFL season, he had only one bout, knocking out Al-Silawi in the second round, for which he received five points and was invited to replace Umalatov.
