Washington is playing great hockey in the new season. The Capitals didn't start well, losing 5:3 to New Jersey in their first meeting. But Alexander Ovechkin's team has since rallied to win four in a row. They beat Vegas 4:2, Dallas 3:2, and New Jersey 6:5 in overtime before beating Philadelphia 4:1 the day before.
Philadelphia Flyers
While Washington has been impressive in the new season, Philadelphia has looked the opposite of unique. The Flyers only succeeded in their first game, beating Vancouver 3:2 in a shootout. But a long run of defeats followed, with the 4:1 loss to Washington the fifth in a row. Before that, Philadelphia lost to Calgary 3:6, Edmonton 3:4 OT, Seattle 4:6, and Vancouver 3:0. Nothing can be done with those results in the playoffs.

Washington has been a lot of fun to watch recently, as they've been happy with their results and have been racking up win after win. At the same time, Philadelphia has not been doing so well, and three points from six games is the worst record in the East. The night before, the Capitals had no trouble beating the Flyers 4:1.
