Vegas is on course for its first-ever Stanley Cup title. They had a tremendous regular season and were the best team in the West, so they faced a formidable opponent in the early stages of the playoffs. The Golden Knights had no problems with Winnipeg - a confident 4:1 win. The next opponent was much more severe and had Connor McDavid with Leon Dreisaitl. At 2:2 in the series, they secured two wins and advanced to the West Final (4:2). The first meeting with Dallas was also successful for Vegas - they beat the Stars 4:3 in overtime.

Dallas also looked strong during the regular season. They stayed near the top of the Western Conference, eventually finishing fourth. The Stars' first opponent in the playoffs was Minnesota; which they beat in six games (4:2). In the Western semi-finals, the Stars suffered a surprisingly strong performance from Seattle. They needed all seven games to succeed, but the team pulled together and played their best hockey at the critical moment. The series with Vegas (like the previous two) began with a defeat for Dallas. As in the previous ones, they lost in overtime.

We think that the second meeting of the series will remain with Vegas. There is no doubt that it will, like the first, be highly hard-fought. Nevertheless, it seems that the Golden Knights, who've already enjoyed a home win, will be the ones to beat again. They won the Western Conference in the regular season, but the team did not take the competition out of the distance. Dallas will pick up a game or two at their home arena, but they are unlikely to do so now at T-Mobile Arena. The Stars look worse on the road than they do at home, where they have lost three of their previous four games. Therefore, we suggest betting on the home team's final success (including overtime).
