That's not to say that Tampa Bay is approaching the game against Florida in good shape. They have won three of their last five games, two of them within regulation time, 4:1 over Philadelphia and 5:2 over Nashville, and one outside over Toronto (4:3). In the other two games, the Lightning proved weaker. First, they lost to Boston 1:3, and then ridiculously to Detroit (2:4). Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers are not nearly as good as they were in the previous campaign. They have 30 points after 27 games, so the Panthers are fighting for a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division. Ahead of their trip to Tampa, they are only fifth and one point behind the fourth place in Detroit. In their last three games, the Panthers have picked up two wins over Seattle and Detroit (5:1 each) and a 2:5 loss to Winnipeg.
