San Jose Sharks
San Jose is having another weak regular season. Already in the season debut, it was clear that it would be incredibly difficult for the Californians to solve serious problems as they went on a long losing streak. Since then, they've only enjoyed decent results in splashes for their fans. In February, they played only six games, in which they managed to beat Calgary - 6:3, one more point was scored in the confrontation with Anaheim - 2:3 in overtime, and four more times they lost in regulation time, so they are only on the 15th line in the Western Conference standings.
New Jersey Devils
New Jersey performs noticeably worse than a year ago but still has a chance to make the playoffs. They can't produce a consistently successful stretch that would allow them to climb into the Cup Final Eight finally. In the last six meetings, they managed to beat only Philadelphia and Montreal - 6:3 and 4:3, respectively, with defeats in regulation time from Los Angeles - 1:2, Washington - 2:6, Rangers - 1:5, and the day before from Tampa Bay - 1:4. Such a modest stretch leaves the Devils in tenth place in the Eastern Conference standings, and five points behind the playoff zone.
Expert Betting Tips
San Jose and New Jersey are unsuccessful in the current regular season. The only difference is that the Californians have not even tried to compete for the playoffs, being hopeless outsiders of the Western Conference. However, the Devils are still trying to climb into the cup eight of the Eastern Conference, trailing by only five points. A trip to California is a great opportunity for the Redblacks to improve their standing, and the Sharks have been mediocre on home ice, losing four of their last five games in regulation time.
Although San Jose and New Jersey do not please their fans with good results, they still try to play spectacularly and efficiently. In the last four games, the Sharks scored 26 goals (6.50 per game on average), while the Devils scored 35 goals (7.00 per game on average) in the previous five games. Both figures are very respectable, even by NHL standards. Rich in goals was also the first face-to-face meeting between the rivals in the current season, when the Californians won - 6:3.
