Dallas is nearing the end of the season. Already in the confrontation with Seattle, it was evident that the Texas team gradually ran out of strength, but due to experience, they still got a decisive seventh game in the series, 2-1. In the Western Conference Finals, however, the Stars had more problems. In their two away games against Vegas, Peter DeBoer's wards looked decent and made it to overtime. However, the extra time did not last long as, in both cases, Jake Oettinger capitulated in the second minute, 3-4 and 2-3. Dallas left a dismal impression in that first home battle, losing 0-4, which now puts it one step away from relegation.
Vegas
Vegas crushes all opponents on their way to the first Stanley Cup. This season is Bruce Cassidy's first as head coach, but he won the Western Conference immediately. His team has been incredibly productive in the playoffs as well. In five games, they beat Winnipeg, 4-1; in six, Edmonton, 4-2. Now they even intend to make it in four meetings. At home, the Knights snatched two wins over Dallas in overtime, 4-3 and 3-2. The day before, they sent three unanswered pucks to the Stars by the eighth minute and then comfortably won 4-0.

Dallas lost their resources in the two initial games with Vegas. They brought it to overtime twice, conceding already in the second minute and failing. The day before, the Stars had their worst game in the current Stanley Cup. Jamie Benn freaked out on Mark Stone in the opening minutes and was suspended. By the 7th minute, the hosts missed three times, and Evgenii Dadonov got injured. That said, the Knights are running on the roll. Thus they will hardly allow their opponent to come back into the series.
In the current Stanley Cup, Vegas score abnormally well for cup battles. Bruce Cassidy's charges in the previous 13 meetings netted 51 pucks (3.92 on average). Even the day before, when the Knights already led 2-0 in the series, they still sent four unanswered pucks against Dallas, confirming their statistics. Now there's a good chance that their offense will prove itself.
