The Finnish national team is the most successful national team of recent years, but things are not going well for the Blue-Whites at the 2024 World Cup. Already on the opening game day they lost to the Czechs on a shootout - 0:1. Then there were two easy wins over the British and Norwegians - 8:0 and 4:1, respectively, which should have given the team confidence in their own abilities. In reality, nothing of the sort happened. In their fourth game at the tournament, the Suomi managed to lose to the Austrians 2:3 in regulation time, conceding the decisive goal a second before the end of the third period, and the day before they lost to the Canadians 3:5. Now the Finns are only in fourth place in the Group A standings.
Denmark
The Danish team at the 2024 FIFA World Cup could expect to qualify for the play-offs only after a loud sensation, as the Vikings found themselves in a group with the Swiss, Canadians, Finns and Czechs. Getting past the top opponents without beating them is an extremely problematic task, although the Suomi have given them such chances, having already suffered three defeats at the tournament. The Danes are not taking advantage of that, as they expectedly beat the Austrians and Great Britain 5:1 and 4:3, respectively; they didn't work miracles in the game with the Canadians 1:5, failed to cope with the Czechs 4:7, and also managed to lose to the Norwegians 0:2. For now, the Red and White are content with fifth place in the Group A standings, and their chances of advancing to the quarter-final round are at a minimum.
Expert Betting Tips
The Finnish national team has not been performing well at the 2024 World Cup so far. In five matches, the Suomi have suffered three defeats with two wins, and therefore have not even secured a playoff spot yet. The upcoming match against the Danes is a great opportunity for them to solve the minimum task for the group stage, as they have traditionally played well against the Vikings. The Finns have won five of their last six head-to-head meetings, each time with a solid score difference. And now Jukka Jalonen's men must finally step up and show their usual level of hockey.
