The Amundi Evian Championship Prediction: Who will win the next round?

In the third round of the Amundi Evian Championship, So Yeon Ryu, Sophia Schubert, and Andrea Lee will square it off. When the three professional golfers meet, we will expect them to have a lot of points as they will look to progress to the next round. 

So Yeon Ryu

Ryu made her first trip outside South Korea at the 2011 U.S. Women's Open at The Broadmoor, where she beat fellow South Korean Hee Kyung Seo in a playoff. It was the first time the competition had an aggregate playoff. Before, if there was a tie in the Women's Open, the winner was decided by a playoff of 18 holes. Ryu made the playoff happen by putting her approach shot within 6 feet of the hole on the 72nd hole and making a birdie. Six years later, Ryu beat Lexi Thompson in a sudden-death playoff to win her second major title at the ANA Inspiration (now Chevron Championship). She is currently ranked 51 in the world ranking. Ryu has not been in her best form since the beginning of the Evian Championship, having a total of 67, 66 in both the first and second round of the competition. She will hope to gain many points when she plays in the round 3 where she faces a lot of competition from Andree Lee and Sophia Schubert.

Sophia Schubert

In the third round of the Evian Championship, 26-year-old American Sophia Schubert, rookie of the year, will compete against some of the most recognizable names in professional golf. Albane Valenzuela, a former Olympian and the number three ranked amateur player in the world, was defeated in the final of the 2017 U.S. Women's Amateur by Schubert, who went on to win the tournament. She won her first professional tournament on the Symetra Tour in the Carolina Golf Classic the following year (2021). She has been performing very well throughout the Evian Championship, scoring a total of 69 in the first round and 65 in the second round, respectively. This is very close to the stat that So Yeon Ryu has during the competition as well.

Andree Lee

America Hermosa Beach, California, is where Andree Lee grew up. After just four years of competing at 8, she had amassed a total of 50 junior titles. When she was 15, she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open at Pinehurst and cut. After winning the Rolex Tournament of Champions and the Yani Tseng Invitational on the AJGA circuit in 2014, she ranked as the best junior golfer in the United States. Her achievements pushed her to the top of the rankings at the end of the year. After finishing T30 on the LPGA Q-Series and qualifying for the 2020 LPGA Tour, Lee turned professional at the end of 2019. She competed in 15 events and cut in 11 of them during her maiden year on the professional circuit. During the Epson Tour's Casino Del Sol Golf Classic in 2022, Andre Lee claimed her maiden professional title. In a sudden death playoff on the third hole, she defeated her Curtis Cup partner Lucy Li by making par. In the first round of the Evian Championship, she scored 69 points, and in the second round, she scored 65 points. Hopefully, she will maintain her current form in the third round.

Expert Betting Tips

Since the beginning of the Evian Championship, all three professionals have done a great job. The prize money is $6,500,000. So Yeon Ryu, Sophia Schubert, and Andrea Lee will work hard to win this round so they can move on to the next round of the competition and increase their chances of first place overall. Even though other competitors have done very well in each round, So Yeon Ryu is still the favorite. When the Korean golfer plays against American golfers, her experience and number of years playing will be necessary.
