Houston Dynamo vs New York Red Bulls Prediction: No shooting boots on for both sets of attackers.

After the draw, Houston played in the CONCACAF Champions League against Saint Louis City. They lost 2-1 in the first leg and then they won 1-0 in the 2nd leg to book their place in the second round. Ben Olsen's substitute saved the day once again as Erik Sviatchenko scored the crucial goal in the 60th minute after replacing Michael Smith in the 46th minute.

Looking ahead to the New York Red Bulls game, Houston Dynamo might need to up their game to earn a win. They have managed to pull off lucky wins and it might run out in the next game.

New York Red Bulls

The Red Bulls were poor in the preseason before the opener, so it comes with little surprise that they were only able to earn a point in their opening game. Sandro Schwarz played a traditional 4-4-2 formation in the game against Nashville SC and there was little evidence as neither side could find the back of the net. However, New York Red Bulls were able to hold onto possession as they had 55% and then they took 5 shots on target and 5 corner kicks. They also created 2 big chances and struck the woodwork twice during the game.

All attention would obviously be on strike partners Dante Venzeir and Elias Manoel. They both had a total of 1 shot on target until they were both replaced. With such limited options in attack, Sandro Schwarz has a tough decision to make about the style of play for the forthcoming game.

Ahead of the trip to Houston, The Red Bulls need to make a lot of improvement especially in the attacking setup. There's a chance Sandro Schwarz will retain the same style and hope both strikers find their shooting boots.
