Union vs Ajax Prediction: Belgians will succeed in the first game

Union

Union is an 11-time Belgian champion, but all their titles the Yellow-Blue won from 1904 to 1935. Ajax

Ajax has experienced tremendous ups and equally tremendous downs in recent years. We can all remember how Amsterdam were just a couple of years ago just inches away from the Champions League final, and last season they could seriously drop out of the elite Dutch division when they showed dismal results. Thankfully, the situation was rectified, they finished in fifth place in the final standings and even made it to the Europa League.

Obviously, such a difficult season forced them to do some work on their mistakes, and therefore now we see a much better game from the Amsterdammers. From the very beginning of the championship, they began to actively collect points, which they are still doing. In the last six rounds of the national championship they won six victories, which allowed them to break into first place in the standings, but they are ahead of PSV only by additional statistical indicators.

In the Europa League, the Red and Whites started from the second round of qualification, but successfully made their way to the general stage of the tournament. In the four starting rounds they collected 10 out of 12 possible points, but then they lost to Real Sociedad 0:2, Lazio 1:3 and RFH 0:1. Only after that they were stronger than Galatasaray - 2:1, which allowed them to soar to 12th place in the summary table, passing in the round of 32.
