Austria vs Azerbaijan Prediction: Expect a high level of scoring activity

The stadium Raiffeisen Arena will host a qualifying match for the European Football Championship, in which the national teams of Austria and Azerbaijan will meet on March 24.

The Austrian team is a regular participant in recent continental championships, but they have not made it to the world championships since far back in 1998. Fortunately, the Eagles will qualify for Euro 2024, so there is a chance for the final success. The Red-Whites played their last official matches in the UEFA Nations League, where they played as part of the elite division, but finished last in the quartet with the Croats, the French, and the Danes and went to League B. Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani team has never been selected for major international tournaments. They had their best qualification for the 2014 World Cup when they finished fourth in the group, but that wasn't enough to qualify for the Brazilian finals. After that, the results of the Red and Blue went down, and in preparing for the 2022 World Cup, they scored only one point in eight games, finishing in last place. The Azerbaijanis then played in the UEFA Nations League in Division C, where they failed to gain promotion, finishing only second in the standings. Their last two games were friendlies with the Moldovans and Macedonians, 2:1 and 3:1.

The Austrian national team has participated in the last two continental championships, so now we have the right to expect from them a severe struggle for a trip to Euro 2024. According to a quick look at the Group F squad, Austria and Sweden will be fighting for second place in the tournament, and therefore the Eagles cannot afford to lose points in a home game against one of the bottom sides in the quintet. Fortunately, the Red and White won their last two head-to-head encounters at 3:0 and 4:1, so we shouldn't expect them to falter in the upcoming game. Moreover, the Red and Blue scored much more often than they conceded. It is unlikely that the Austrian national team will close in front of its goal against the group's outsider.
