The Armenian national team had a surprising qualifying tournament for the 2022 World Cup. In the first three rounds, they scored wins over Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Romania, which made them believe they could make it to the Mundial, but in the next seven games, they did not win even once, just with three draws and four defeats. That was good enough for only fourth place in the group. The Armenian national team was so disappointed by this failure that they finished last in the UEFA Nations League last season, relegated to the third-strongest division. The previous two games were friendlies, which ended in a 2:2 draw against Kosovo and a 0:2 defeat by Albania.
Turkey
The Turkish national team, in recent decades, bordered qualifying tournaments for the World Cup and the continent. The team last played at the 2002 World Cup, when they sensationally won the bronze medal but never managed to break into the finals. Another thing is the Euros, where the Turks have qualified five of the last seven times. And now they are among the real contenders for the trip to Germany, as in their quintet, the Croatians are the clear favorites and with the others can compete. The Red and Whites played their last official games in the UEFA Nations League, finishing first in the group in the third strongest division.
Expert Betting Tips
The Armenian national team is modest in terms of achievements, but recently it has become interesting to watch the matches involving them. They often put up productive and entertaining battles, and throughout the previous six meetings, they scored 24 shots on goal (4.00 per game on average). In the upcoming match, the Turkish national team is unlikely to close in front of their goal and keep the scoreboard clean, as starting with a victory in such a competitive group is essential. As a result, we suggest betting on a total over 2.5.
The Armenian team has had a brilliant and productive start in the last two tournaments: they won three straight games in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and beat Ireland in the first leg of the UEFA Nations League. But then the Armenians lost repeatedly, so they could not achieve the final success. Azerbaijan will have an excellent chance to get a positive result, but it will be hard for the Turks to take away the victory from Yerevan. Based on this, we see the optimal way to predict that the Armenian team won't lose. In addition, we should consider betting on Lucas Zelarayán's goal.
