The home side began their league season with a disappointing defeat on their ground against Singida Black Stars on their ground. Kagera Sugar, who played more defensively as goalkeeper Chalamanda, was named the man of the match. It was a poor start for the host team, who’ll now face off against a solid team.
Kagera Sugar failed to maintain their momentum towards the end of last season and were forced to fight for survival.
Kagera Sugar, who lost just twice on their ground last season, were just two points above the relegation zone. Kagera Sugar picked up thirty-four points from a possible ninety, scoring twenty-three while conceding thirty-two goals.
Kagera Sugar have a decent home record with four wins, two defeats, and nine stalemates.
Young Africans
Miguel Gamando's men were phenomenal last season as they successfully defended the Tanzania Ligi Kuu Bara title. The Argentine, who lost four games in his entire season, secured the title on Azam’s watch. Young Africans made some fantastic decisions by keeping their key players and bolstering the squad. This will pay off again as the synergy amongst the players is expected to be out of the roof. Young Africans have won once and lost a game in their preseason fixtures, and this is their first-ever competitive match this season.

Over their previous eighteen meetings, Kagera Sugar have won once while Yanga Boys have managed fifteen victories and two games ending in a deadlock. Young Africans have won four consecutive games already this season, facing the toughest teams in the competition, and we are confident they’ll exert dominance over their opponent here. On the opposing end, the hosts began their league action with a decent performance against Singida Black Stars FC, even though they lost the game.
Yanga Boys will definitely get off to a flying start, especially after the hosts lost to a less superior team on their home turf.
