In the first round, which will take place on Sunday, July 23, the newly promoted Lausanne Sport will compete against the team that won the Swiss Super League last season. Both teams enter Stadion Wankdorf riding high after victories in recent friendly matches, one against Nice and the other against Thun.

Last season, the home team had a fantastic run, winning the league for the fifth time in six years and the Swiss Cup for the first time since the 2019-20 season. They finished the previous season easily on top of the league standings with 74 points after playing in 36 games, which was 16 points more than second-placed Servette.
They went the entire season unbeaten at the Wankdorf in Bern, where they play their home games, and they finished with 14 victories and four draws from their 18 matches on home soil. This was a key part in them racing away at the top of the standings. Young Boys have not been defeated in this arena since they suffered a setback against Zurich in March 2022, when they were still on their approach to winning the championship. This win streak now spans 22 matches. Young Boys had a good preseason, winning five of their seven friendlies and tying two of them. They will try to keep that confidence going into the new season.
Lausanne Sport - hoping to start the season on a great note
As a result of Lausanne's successful campaign in the Swiss second division the previous year, the club earned straight-away and automatic promotion to the Super League. They finished in second place in the Challenge League with 61 points after playing in all 36 matches and will be aiming for a lengthy stay in the first division.
In preparation for their return to the Super League, Lausanne have also boosted their roster by acquiring Basel forward Mamadou Kaly Sene. Sene, who has scored in all three friendlies he has played in since his arrival, is set to start up front for Lausanne. Noe Dussenne is another intriguing newcomer who has joined the team. He comes from Standard Liege, where he was a standout defender who contributed five goals for the Belgian club in the previous campaign.
Possible starting lineups

Expert Betting Tips
Without any doubt, Young Boys will dominate this clash. I believe Lausanne Sport will get a goal to take home at a point in the game, but a single goal won’t stop them from defeat.
