Palestine is struggling in the third round of World Cup qualification, sitting last in their group with two points from five games. The Makram Daboub-led side has shown resilience in that two games have been lost by the under-margin, and the last home game against Kuwait was won through a late equalizer.
None has won in the last seven of qualification games, though the team has not been able to score in five consecutive games. Palestine has secured at least a point in four of the last five competitive home matches, two of those having been clean sheets.
They have not come from behind to level at halftime and win this stage of qualifying, but have scored two of their three goals before halftime. Their best result so far was a 0-0 draw with Korea in the opening match for the 100th ranked side in the FIFA rankings.
