In the previous round, Monza was involved in one of the most exciting matches of the season. Monza's away game against Lecce went down to the wire. At 90+2, however, Michele Di Gregorio found the net from a Nikola Krstovic free-kick. There was time for Raffaele Palladino's team to get back into the game, but they were awarded a penalty from the next attack, which Matteo Pessina converted. They still managed to score in Lecce 1:1.
It was also Monza's fifth consecutive game without a win - three defeats and two draws. The run of bad luck is not surprising, however. At the end of the season, the red-and-whites are not solving any tournament problems.
Lazio
The Biancocelesti are highly motivated as the league season draws close, with Champions League qualification. Despite being four points off the pace, Lazio's chances of finishing in the top five are not bad. They may have been knocked out of the Italian Cup by Juventus, but they have won four out of five league games under Igor Tudor.
Lazio's latest success came on the road against Verona. Mattia Zaccagni scored the only goal midway through the second half - 1:0.
Expert Betting Tips
Lazio has benefited from a coaching change. Following the sacking of Maurizio Sarri, the Biancocelesti have regained their momentum, winning four out of five league games, and will be looking to build on their success in this fixture. As recent results have shown, Monza has lost their place in the tournament and is not fighting for points. We bet on Lazio and don't expect many goals. Under Igor Tudor, the Romans rarely concede.
