This season has been challenging for Lazio. If a year ago the Romans became vice-champions of Italy, now they are not even in the UEFA Competition, and even the fight for a place in the Champions League is out of the question. From the beginning of the championship, they began to lose a lot of points. In December, they had a remarkable period when they won four rounds in a row, but the problems continued. In their last six league games, they only beat Cagliari and Torino 3:1 and 2:0, drew 0:0 with Napoli, and lost three more times. In the Serie A standings, Maurizio Sarri's wards are only eighth.
Milan
Milan is doing much better, but they are not in the running for the Serie A title either. The first half of the season was tough for them, as they had to play in both the Champions League and the national championship, and the number of injuries did not help their performance. Stefano Pioli's wards started to win more often after the European Cup break but still lost points in the last two rounds: first, they unexpectedly lost to Monza - 2:4, then they shared the points with Atalanta - 1:1. Milan are third in the league standings.
Expert Betting Tips
Milan is much better than Lazio this season, being third in the Serie A standings against eighth-placed Roma. They are more concerned with their performance in the Champions League, where they unexpectedly beat Bayern Munich in the first game and now need to maintain their lead. Milan will also play in the Europa League this week, but it will be two days later, and Slavia Prague will hardly need the same preparation as Munich.
The confrontation between Lazio and Milan has been very goal-rich lately. In the last ten meetings, the opponents combined to score 31 goals (3.10 per game on average), which is a respectable result. Furthermore, Milan has scored 12 goals in their last six friendlies (2.00 goals per game).
