Lazio vs Cremonese Prediction: The home team will need to beat Cremonese

Lazio clinched a Champions League spot in the previous fixture and can now secure second place in the table. IIn order to do so, Maurizio Sarri's side will need to beat Cremonese, already relegated to Serie B. Can Lazio manage this seemingly simple task?

The Roman club officially entered the next round of the Champions League following their away game against Udinese. Lazio voluntarily gave the lead to their rivals there, with little or no attacking play, and allowed the Romans to create regular chances. As a result, Lazio earned a penalty kick midway through the second half that Ciro Immobile converted. With a 1:0 win, the Biancocelesti are guaranteed a place in the top four, and should they beat Cremonese, they can claim their first league title. There can be no doubt that Maurizio Sarri's second season in Rome has been a success.

Cremonese

The Red and Grey have done a lot to try and secure a place in Serie A for next season, but they certainly do not have the strength to break through. The issue of Cremonese's exit was ultimately settled following the previous round's game against Bologna, where the Red and Blue beat Cremona (5:1). The Serie A side will play the remaining two matches before the end of the campaign as a Serie B side.

The bookmakers predict that this matchup will be very productive, but Cremonese have been scoring very little late, and Lazio has one of the best defenses this season. The Grey and Red got five from Bologna in the last round, but before that, they had not played a productive match for over a month. The statistics of Lazio's expected goals also speak in favor of the low performance here.
