Then they conceded two goals to Sassuolo (1:2). This poor start has considerably worsened Empoli's position in the standings. Now they are only five points ahead of the bottom three.

The Red and Blue have noticeably given up physically in recent matches. The team has stopped running, although they are still picking up points. In their last seven games, for example, they suffered just one away defeat at the hands of Verona. Bologna took points from four Serie A sides - AC Milan, Lazio, Atalanta, and Juventus.

The Red and Blue faced Juventus in the last round; they drew 1:1 with the Turin side. To be fair, Bologna was not without luck. The opponents created many chances at Lukas Skorupski's goal but failed to convert them, with Bologna's only goal coming from the spot.
