Gian Piero Gasperini's team had a successful start to the new championship. Atalanta has two wins and one draw following the results of three rounds. Both victories were away. Atalanta defeated Sampdoria (2-0) in Genoa and matched the local side in Verona (1-0). The only draw was with the reigning Italian champion AC Milan at home, 1-1. Atalanta failed to qualify for the European competitions last season, so now they can fully concentrate on the domestic championship.
Torino hasn't lost yet either
Torino's results at the start of the championship are identical to Atalanta's, two wins and a draw. First, Ivan Juric's team overcame Monza away (2-1) and then managed to hold on in their home game against Lazio (0-0). Finally, on Matchday 3, the Turin side took away three points from Cremonese, 2-1. Indeed, the opponents, except Lazio, were not the most serious, but still, seven points in three rounds should be regarded as a very successful result.
We should also note that Torino still has to do without Aleksei Miranchuk who is injured. On the other hand, the former CSKA Moscow midfielder Nikola Vlasic is playing. The Croatian managed to score in the game against Cremonese.
Injuries and suspensions
- Atalanta: Berat Djimsiti, Simone Muratore and Jose Palomino will not play. Marco Carnesecchi is questionable;
- Torino: Aleksei Miranchuk, David Zima, Mohamed Fares will not play.
Expert Betting Tips
Torino is a team that can qualify for European competitions this season. In the last championship, the Bulls did not succeed. Having strengthened in the off-season, the Turin team has noticeably improved. It will be tough for Atalanta to win the upcoming game, and probably, it will not work out for the Bergamo side. Despite winning two matches in the first three rounds, Gian Piero Gasperini's team was far from convincing. Right now, Atalanta does not look stronger than Torino, as bookmakers believe.
Prediction: Torino will not lose.
