Stadium: MHPArena (Stuttgart)
08.03.2024 22:30
When Stuttgart hosts Union Berlin at the MHPArena on Friday night, they will be looking to extend their winning streak in the Bundesliga to seven games. Stuttgart has not finished in the top three of Germany's top division since 2008-09; in contrast, Die Roten has had a fantastic season, finishing third in 2023-24 with 50 points from their 24 league games. Stuttgart has placed 15th and 16th in their past two Bundesliga campaigns.
The Union Berlin team, who has only won twice on the road in the league in 2023-24, will be welcomed by the Reds, who have been excellent at home this season with 29 points from 12 games. When the two clubs faced off in the rematch back in October, Stuttgart won 3-0, but Union Berlin has won two of their previous three Bundesliga games.
The team from the capital has had difficulty scoring goals this season, only managing 23 goals. This is the third-worst attacking record in the Bundesliga, against a Stuttgart team that has scored 55 goals in 24 league games this year.

In the German Bundesliga, Stuttgart won 3-2 away from home against Wolfsburg on Saturday. This victory not only gave the hosts their fifth straight victory but also solidified their third-place standing under Sebastian Hoeness's leadership. Union Berlin, on the other hand, suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss at home against Borussia Dortmund, dropping them to 14th place in the standings.
Stuttgart's chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season have been bolstered by recent victories against RB Leipzig (5-2), Freiburg (3-1), Mainz (3-1), Darmstadt 2-1, and the previously mentioned 3-2 victory away at Wolfsburg. Going into Friday night's match, the hosts have a sizable seven-point lead over fifth-place RB Leipzig.
Following a difficult stretch of results from mid-December to the end of January, when Stuttgart won just once in five games, a 3-0 victory at home against Augsburg. Sebastian Hoeness' team has produced an impressive run of results, winning five of their next six games. On Friday night, the hosts will be looking to add another three points to their record.
Union Berlin
Union Berlin's four-game undefeated streak in the Bundesliga came to an end at home against Borussia Dortmund, a depressing but understandable 2-0 loss that has left them hovering just above the relegation zone.
While wins over teams like Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim helped the visitors pick up points in their 1-1 and 2-2 draws with Mainz and Heidenheim, respectively, the visitors' overall record has been rather uneven, even though they have only lost four of their previous 13 league games in the top flight of the country.
Union Berlin had a great start to the season with back-to-back 4-1 victories over Mainz and Darmstadt, which at the time seemed to hold a lot of promise. However, after that, Sebastian Hoeness' team suffered nine straight defeats, including a crushing 3-0 loss at home to Stuttgart in the earlier corresponding fixture towards the end of October.
To make matters worse, Union Berlin is still having trouble winning away from home. In their 12 road games thus far, the visitors have only scored two victories while suffering an equal number of defeats.
Expert Betting Tips
Union Berlin is in great form and has just lost one of their previous five Bundesliga games, but they will be up against a strong Stuttgart team. As they are now winning a lot of games, we anticipate that the hosts will routinely score three more points on Friday night.
A scoreline of 3-0 or 3-1 is anticipated as we believe Stuttgart will win by at least a 2-goal margin.
