Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction, Betting Tips & Odds │22 APRIL, 2023

Borussia Dortmund will want to defeat Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga encounter on Saturday night in order to keep pressure on league leaders Bayern Munich at the Signal Iduna Park at 19:30 (GMT+3). The success of Frankfurt's season currently appears to depend mostly on winning the DFB-Pokal since they have lost each of their previous seven league games.

Inconsistent thus far this season, Eintracht Frankfurt presently holds the seventh position in the Bundesliga rankings. After a tie with Borussia Monchengladbach, the away team will need to step up their game in this match.

On the other side, Borussia Dortmund has moved up this year and is now in second position in the league rankings. The team in Yellow and Black will need to do better this weekend after being held to a 3-3 stalemate by VfB Stuttgart in their last match.

To keep the pressure on Bayern, Dortmund will need to win and that is exactly what it expected.

 After Bayern plays Mainz in Saturday's opening league match, Dortmund will play that match hours later. The burden is on Dortmund to attempt to go top, or at the very least make sure the margin doesn't become greater, regardless of how that game turns out.

Dortmund had a chance to take the lead last weekend but instead drew 3-3 with Stuttgart despite having a 2-0 lead at one stage in the match. In the thick of a title chase, blowing a two-goal lead is one thing, but doing it with 10 men on the field is quite another. Terzic will be urgently hoping that his team can bounce back against Frankfurt this weekend.

In their previous five games, Dortmund has recorded two victories, two defeats, and a tie, but their main worry will be the number of goals they have been giving up. They have not had a clean sheet in their previous five games, and in three of their last four games, they have given up two goals or more.

Mats Hummels, Niklas Sule, and Nico Schlotterbeck are all questionable to start against Frankfurt due to injuries. Sule and Hummels should be able to recover quickly from their individual muscular problems, while Schlotterbeck should be back in the mix by the end of April. After scoring three goals despite losing points in their previous game, Terzic is unlikely to make any changes to his front line with Thomas Meunier, Mateu Morey, and Julian Duranville all sidelined for at least another matchday.

Borussia Dortmund's possible starting lineup:

Goalkeeper: Kobel;

Defenders: Ryerson, Sule, Hummels, Guerreiro;

Midfielders: Bellingham, Can, Brandt;

Strikers: Malen, Haller, Adeyemi

Eintracht Frankfurt is on a losing streak that makes it unlikely that they will qualify for Europe next season when they head to Dortmund. The visitors have only won once in their past ten games, a 2-0 victory against Union Berlin in a German Cup encounter. They have lost their past seven games in the Bundesliga. Eintracht Frankfurt's primary issue is in the defense. Despite Randal Kolo Muani's four goals in his past four games, the team has not climbed up the league tale as much as anticipated. Despite only having one clean sheet in ten games, the visiting team has scored in each of the previous four. In four of Eintracht Frankfurt's previous five league games, both teams have scored, and just one of those five games has ended without a goal.

Eintracht Frankfurt will understandably have at least one eye on their trip to Stuttgart for their DFB-Pokal semi-final encounter as the coach will be hoping to help the club become the joint-second most successful team in the history of that competition and add to their Europa League triumph.

Eintracht Frankfurt will be missing Kristijan Jakic, Philipp Max, Hrvoje Smolcic, Almamy Toure, and Jesper Lindstrom due to injuries. Evan Ndicka could be cleared to play after recuperating from his most recent muscular injury. Rafael Borre is likely to be replaced since he took on a somewhat deeper role than he would have liked, which caused Mario Gotze to miss his team's draw against Gladbach. Mario Gotze would likely start for the visitors against his old team.

Eintracht Frankfurt's possible starting lineup:

Goalkeeper: Trapp;

Defeders: Tuta, Hasebe, Ndicka;

Midfielder: Buta, Rode, Sow, Lenz;

Strikers: Kamada, Gotze; Kolo Muani

Borussia Dortmund has a strong team at their disposal and has performed admirably this year. This weekend, the hosts will try to close the gap with league-leading Bayern Munich, who are currently only two points behind them.

Even if Eintracht Frankfurt might be formidable on occasion, the away team is not performing at its peak right now. Eintracht Frankfurt looks to have somewhat checked out of the Bundesliga, much as they did toward the end of last season when they were pursuing success in the Europa League.

Therefore, we anticipate Dortmund to bounce back with a significant win, but barring Mainz doing them a favor by defeating Bayern earlier in the day, it won't be enough to propel them back to the top of the table. Borussia Dortmund is the stronger team right now and ought to be able to win this game. A scoreline of 2-1, 3-1, or 4-1 is expected.
