Nice vs Toulouse Prediction, Betting Tips & Odds │21 MAY, 2023

Toulouse will be seeking to build on their successful conclusion to the season when they face Nice at the Allianz Riviera on Sunday. Toulouse has already won the Coupe de France. In contrast to the visitors' second straight scoreless draw as they were held by relegation-threatened Nantes, the hosts' last match ended in a loss at Strasbourg.

Nice is now tenth in the rankings with 51 points from 35 games and is attempting to place in the top half for the eighth consecutive season. Toulouse, on the other hand, is in a little worse position than Nice, having racked up eight less points and lying behind them in thirteenth place. Toulouse has lost their past three games after winning the Coupe de France last month. Toulouse hasn't scored in their last three games despite scoring five goals against Nantes in the cup final. After a scoreless tie with Ajaccio and Nantes, the opening match concluded in a loss to Lens.

In the 14 games between January and April that followed Lucien Favre's dismissal, caretaker manager Digard led the Eagles to eight victories and six ties in all competitions. However, Nice have lost four of their last six Ligue 1 games, including setbacks to Paris Saint-Germain, Brest, and Clermont that came before last weekend's discouraging loss at Strasbourg.

With only three games left, Nice is nine points outside the European spots after having their undefeated streak stopped by a string of draws. Digard's team has only managed to win two of their past 10 league games. Although they have only won one of their previous six games, the Eagles may still be confident given their strong home record. In their last 13 Ligue 1 matches at the Allianz Riviera, they have lost only two games.

Khephren Thuram is slated to miss Sunday's game after suffering an injury during last weekend's loss to Strasbourg. While Antoine Mendy, Youssouf Ndayishimiye, and Nicolas Pepe continue to receive treatment, former Arsenal and Juventus player Aaron Ramsey is also expected to be out. He missed the previous game due to an injury.

Nice potential starting lineup:

Schmeichel, Lotomba, Todibo, Dante, Bard, Rosario, Boudaoui, Belahyane, Bouanani, Moffi, Laborde

As Toulouse finds itself 10 points clear of the relegation zone heading into the last three games, it is safe to conclude that the team has experienced a great comeback season in the top division after winning Ligue 2 last year. Philippe Montanier is in charge of Toulouse. And to top it all off, Toulouse won the Coupe de France three weeks ago, thrashing Nantes 5-1 in the final, partly due to first-half doubles from Thijs Dallinga and Logan Costa.

Oddly enough, Toulouse and Nantes faced off once more last weekend, with the Canaries holding Montanier's team to a scoreless draw in Haute-Garonne despite the hosts controlling 72% of possession and taking 14 shots while allowing the visitors to muster just one chance on goal. As a result, Toulouse enters their match against Nice on the heels of two scoreless draws, despite the fact that Le Tefece has lost only two of their previous eight matches overall and has won four of those games.

Toulouse will be optimistic about their prospects of having further success on the road this Sunday after avoiding a loss in each of their last three league away games, winning back-to-back matches against Montpellier and Lorient before drawing with Ajaccio.

Toulouse continues to be without long-term absence Rhys Healey as he makes progress in his recovery from an ACL rupture, while backup goalkeeper Guillaume Restes is also ailing.

Dupe, Rouault, Nicolaisen, Kamanzi, Nicolaisen, Nicolaisen, Nicolaisen, Spierings, Van den Boomen, Chaibi, Genreau, Ratao, and Dallinga might be the starting lineup for Toulouse.

Nice has dropped three of their last five games, which shows there may be a problem within the camp right now. A low-scoring tie may result since Toulouse would want to capitalize on it but is already having trouble.

The points will likely be split at the Allianz Riviera since Toulouse has had trouble turning draws into victories since winning the Coupe de France last month, but Nice has also had trouble lately.
