Nantes vs PSG Prediction: Another Parisian misfire?

The first game of the 6th round of French Ligue 1 will end with a match between PSG and Nantes. The Parisians have already beaten their current opponents in the French Super Cup. Will they be able to repeat their success in the national championship?

Nantes has picked up just one win in their opening five rounds of Ligue 1. The Canaries have little to worry about, as they deserved better from the game. Almost every game, the team has created 2-3 good chances. The club has been quite active on the transfer market, but Moussa Sissoko, for example, has not even made his debut for Nantes yet. Most successful was Mostafa Mohamed: in the previous two games, he scored two goals and assisted 1 goal. Before the transfer window closed, the club bought Ignatius Ganago from Lens, who had scored a combined total of 13 goals in the two previous seasons. It is possible that the signing of Ganago is because Moses Simon's injury is quite severe.

On Matchday 2 of the French championship, the team drew 1:1 away to Strasbourg. In the first half, Nantes had some opportunities to take the lead, but eventually, their opponents scored first. Only in the closing stages of the match did the Canaries snatch a draw thanks to Mostafa Mohamed's skill, although, on the whole, they dominated the game. Nantes had 12 shots on goal compared to their opponents' five.

PSG

After scoring four goals or more in their opening four games of the season, it looked as though the Parisians would be on a roll, but after five rounds, they share the lead with two other clubs, Marseille and Lens. The only defeat for the defending champions came at the hands of Monaco (1:1), and it was a challenging encounter for the capital. PSG could have conceded 2:3 goals from Monegasque, but the Parisian leaders failed to convert more than one goal. There were problems in the previous round, but they still beat Toulouse (0:3).

PSG was so active in the transfer market that the coach was even happy for the window to close. Before the deadline, the club sent off Julian Draxler, Leandro Paredes, Leivin Kurzawa, Idrissa Gueye, and Abdou Diallo while signing Carlos Soler and Fabian Ruiz. Soler has scored 11 goals in 2 consecutive seasons in La Liga for Valencia. Ruiz won't play against Nantes, while Timothée Pembélé and Mauro Icardi are still out of action.

Expert Betting Tips

The Canaries recovered very quickly from their loss to PSG in the Super Cup and have shown some excellent football in the league. Nantes could have scored more than six points in five games if they had converted their chances in their 1:1 defeat at Marseille, and things could have been different against Strasbourg and Lille. PSG has been hugely impressive in the opening fixtures, but the reigning champions are making more and more defensive mistakes. In head-to-head encounters, Nantes isn't the most comfortable opponent for Paris Saint-Germain, and the Parisians could lose points again.
