The English have decided not to play friendlies just before the start of the World Cup so we will focus on their encounters in the Nations League. The Lions failed miserably in the last group stage of the UEFA Nations League, dropping out of Europe's elite to League B. In their six games in the Nations League, the English have picked up only three points, losing three games and drawing three times. In four UEFA Nations League games out of six, the Lions didn't score. Still, in the final round match against the Germans, the British scored three times but could not win (3:3). The statistics indicate that England has problems with goalscoring. However, Harry Kane, England's most dangerous player, is the favorite to score.
Iran
Since a successful qualifier for Iran, the Asians have played five friendlies, including one just before the World Cup against Tunisia. In general, the statistics are +2=1-2, with victories over the Uruguayans. The Iranians lost 0:2 to the Tunisian side, though both goals were scored in the game's closing stages. Despite the defeat against Tunisia, we must note that the Iranian team is the bottom team. In their last nine matches against the Asians, TU (2.5) has been reached only once, in a friendly against Algeria.
Expert Betting Tips
The English side in Qatar will have to play with better quality and results than they did in the UEFA Nations League 2022/23. The British start at the bottom of the group, which means the Three Lions will need a win against the Iranians to get into the playoffs. Iran is a solid team with good defensive play. We have already noted that most of the games involving the Iranians end unproductively, and we doubt that the encounter in the first round will be rich in goals. That said, there is every reason to believe that England's higher level will do their job and the Lions will win.
