The UAE made it to the final part of the World Cup for the first and so far only time at the 1990 World Cup, where they were knocked out in the group stages. However, the Reds and Whites regularly compete in continental championships. On top of that, the hosts reached the semifinals of the Asian Cups in 2015 and 2019 but left in the quarterfinals of the most recent tournament. They're now aiming to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, but their results have been mixed so far. In the first round, the team beat Qatar 3:1. However, they then lost to Iran and Uzbekistan 0:1 each and drew with North Korea 1:1. The UAE is currently in third place in Group A with four points.
Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan has never played in the final of the World Cup, but it has made significant progress in recent years. Until 2019, the Yellows and Blues had never participated in the Asian Cup. However, they made it to the final stage of the continental championship twice in a row: in 2019, they reached the last 16, and in 2023, they played at the group stage. The team is now trying to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, but the group is too tough. The visitors lost to Iran, Uzbekistan, and Qatar but then beat North Korea, which allowed them to climb to fifth place in the Group A standings.

Kyrgyzstan is still in second to last place in Group A, which isn't surprising given that they faced the main contenders for a spot in the World Cup in the first three rounds. They didn't get any points in those games, but they followed that up with a 1:0 win over North Korea. The UAE isn't the strongest, so it's not surprising they couldn't win three games in a row. That said, the team put up a good fight in Abu Dhabi, so they'll be ready to give their all in the next match. We'd say there's a good chance Kyrgyzstan won't lose.
The UAE national team last pulled a shutout on 6 June, beating Nepal 4:0 in the second round of the qualifiers. Nepal came last in that group stage. Since then, the visitors have conceded in all five matches in a row, so now the team will have a great chance to prove themselves in attack. Also, in the last three qualification rounds, they scored twice against Uzbekistan and once each against Qatar and North Korea.
