North Korea has played in the final part of the World Championships before. It's on the small side, but it's there. They have only made it to the World Cup twice before. The team made it to the quarterfinals at the 1966 World Cup and finished last in their group at the 2010 World Cup, missing out on the playoffs. They aim to make it to the World Cup for the third time in history, but it's not looking likely. North Korea only earned two points in four games in the third round. They drew 2:2 and 1:1 with Qatar and the UAE but lost 0:1 to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The team is currently at the bottom of the Group A standings.
Iran
Iran is one of the strongest teams in the confederation. They've won the Asian Cup three times and have made it to the last three consecutive World Cups, but haven't made the playoffs yet. Now, the Lions have a great shot at success by making it to their fourth World Cup. They beat Kyrgyzstan 1:0, the UAE 1:0, and Qatar 4:1 in the opening four legs of the third qualification round, with a 0-0 draw against Uzbekistan. The Iranians are currently leading the Group A standings.
Expert Betting Tips
Right now, the opponents are at very different skill levels. This is backed up by the current standings, where the home team sits at the bottom, and the visitors are at the top. Moreover, the Lions have a strong track record in H2H meetings, winning nine out of the last ten encounters. It's now down to them to succeed.
The teams aren't happy with the number of goals they've scored recently. In total, we saw 8 goals only (1.50 on average) in the previous six H2H meetings. Five matches ended with the total under. Furthermore, the North Koreans have failed to score against the Iranians in six of their last seven games.
