With new ownership at the club, West Brom going into the 2024-25 season held great promise of a good start, especially with the first transfer window under the new owners. So far, only one player has been mentioned to be on the Championship starting line-up for Albion among the new boys. Carlos Corberan kept the same XI for five matches. That has, of course, been a great acclimatisation process, too because West Brom have taken 13 from the first five games, having dropped points in that goalless draw at home to Leeds United. That Josh Maja is fit again will be crucial, the forward having already scored five goals and assisted the team once. Maja gave Albion the lead in the first minute, while Alex Mowatt scored twice as the Baggies produced a dominant 3-0 victory at Fratton Park over Portsmouth.
West Bromwich Albion Predicted XI

Plymouth Argyle Form
West Brom are currently the best defensive record in the division, having conceded just twice, as opposed to Plymouth who have conceded nine times in the same period. For Plymouth, Rooney had still not overseen a win in the Championship until they defeated Sunderland 3-2 and finally broke Sunderland's perfect record. Their performance in this match was promising while an own goal and a penalty gave Plymouth two of their three goals. In the second half, they proved their resilience at Home Park.
Before winning this match, Plymouth had not scored a goal in six halves on a row, which proved that people doubted Rooney's tactics.
Plymouth Argyle Predicted Lineup
Grimshaw; Edwards, Szucs, Gibson, Mumba; Randell, Gyabi; Whittaker, Wright, Cissoko; Hardie
West Bromwich Albion vs Plymouth Argyle Expert Tips
Other than the goalkeepers, the manager had changed not a single player from last season's Championship starting eleven. Corberan could look to respond with an option of playing out Mikey Johnston on the flank against the Baggies, Karlan Grant would probably make way if this did happen. Unless otherwise, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see him continue in the team. Uros Racic, Grady Diangana, and Jed Wallace are expected to drop on the bench. Rooney will probably maintain the same Plymouth side, but Ryan Hardie might be chosen over Michael Obafemi. Rami Al Hajj may have to wait a bit before getting a starting place in the side and remains a substitute for now.
Plymouth will be pretty confident to do it again, considering that they have defeated one of the league leaders. We still believe that West Bromwich Albion will come at the match very hard for a win, possibly clean sheet.
