Watford fans are generally content with Tom Cleverley as their leader as long as the team sits in the top 10 of the table. Yet Cleverley's team have only managed two victories in their last eight, and all five of their defeats have been on the road. In truth, they have won 13 out of 15 here at Vicarage Road, so that slightly alleviates some of that pressure. It's Watford who really need to bolster their frailties on their travels after consecutive losses against Luton Town and Leeds United. Despite their fine performance in the defeat against Leeds 2-1 from last weekend where early goals fell, there is always this pressure to turn things around in the following encounter.
Watford Predicted Lineup
Bachmann; Pollock, Porteous, Morris; Ebosele, Ince, Sissoko, Kayembe, Larouci; Chakvetadze, Baah
Blackburn Rovers form
Just like Blackburn Rovers have grabbed most of their points so far this season at Ewood Park, the team has again gone back to the top six after having won against Swansea City and drawn with West Brom. However, Blackburn were defeated in the last two away games by Coventry City and Plymouth Argyle. They have now got to take on Watford at Vicarage Road, where the visitors have just failed to go nine games without defeat, over two seasons.
Blackburn Rovers Predicted Starting XI
Pears; Rankin-Costello, Batth, Hyam, Beck; Travis, Tronstad; Hedges, Dolan, Cantwell; Gueye
Watford vs Blackburn Rovers Expert Tip
Though Angelo Ogbonna is expected to sit out the game injured, Cleverly may face a dilemma on who to select in his place for the back three between Francisco Sierralta or Ryan Porteous. Though Cleverley might only retain the majority of the starting line up the same from their display at Leeds unless Vakoun Bayo is to be drafted in to fill one of the positions in attack. Daniel Bachmann despite committing two errors at Elland Road has an extremely high chance of being retained in the starting eleven.
The return of centre back Danny Batth is likely at Blackburn where Hayden Carter leaves the field with an injured knee, sustained while playing against West Brom. Arnor Sigurdsson, Andreas Weimann, and Makhtar Gueye are prospects to come back to the game in the attacking third.
Good home form by Watford should not be forgotten despite recent games. So, we can safely estimate that Cleverley's side will make a comeback with a closely contested win.
