After suffering a 5-0 defeat against Russell Martin's Southampton on Boxing Day, Swansea City had a lot to prove in their match against Coventry at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The game marked Alan Sheehan's sixth game as interim manager, taking over after the sacking of former Barnsley manager Duff earlier in December.
Liam Walsh, who was given a spot in the starting lineup, quickly justified Sheehan's decision by scoring his third goal of the season just seven minutes into the match. However, Swansea needed a last-minute free kick from Josh Cullen to secure a draw, as Haji Wright and Ellis Simms scored for Coventry on either side of halftime.
During this game, 17-year-old Sam Parker made his debut for Swansea's first team. The fans, known as the Jack Army, expressed their dissatisfaction with Sam Watson, the sporting director of the club, and called for his departure. The search for Duff's replacement is ongoing, but it is an unfortunate distraction as the focus should be on player recruitment for the upcoming January transfer window.
Under Sheehan's temporary leadership, Swansea has earned eight points from six matches, placing them in 17th position in the Championship. They currently have a nine-point advantage over Queens Park Rangers, who are in 22nd place, as we enter the New Year.
Swansea has a chance to secure consecutive home victories if they can defeat West Brom on New Year's Day. In their previous home match on December 22, they secured a thrilling 2-1 win over Preston North End, with Jamie Paterson scoring a decisive brace. However, this victory was overshadowed by their disappointing performance against Southampton just four days later.

West Bromwich Albion form
West Brom's recent losses against top-ranked teams Leicester City, Sunderland, and Middlesbrough, along with doubts about their promotion chances, were washed away by their consecutive victories over Norwich City and Leeds United. During the match against Leeds, Grady Diangana scored the winning goal, although it was unintentional. West Brom's recent six-point haul has brought them within three points of Leeds, who currently sit in fourth place. Ipswich Town, in second place, have been struggling as of late, having only won one of their last five matches. West Brom's away form has been weaker compared to their home form, with only four wins in 12 away games. However, they did manage to defeat Cardiff City in late November. Their previous visit to the Swansea.com Stadium in May resulted in a defeat that ensured they would stay in the Championship for another season. Ultimately, the loss did not matter as Sunderland secured the last top-six position on the same day.

Swansea City vs West Bromwich Albion Expert Tips
Swansea demonstrated improvement in their recent 2-2 draw against Coventry. However, the team has faced challenges in maintaining consistency under Sheehan's leadership. The Baggies, on the other hand, easily defeated Norwich and Leeds, ending the year on a positive note. We anticipate that the Baggies will continue their success into the new year.
