After finishing 10th in the Championship last season, Swansea City entered the new season under the management of Michael Duff with the goal of competing for a playoff spot once again. Their start to the season has been a bit inconsistent, earning only 15 points from their first 12 matches. It took them until their eighth league game to secure their first victory under Duff, as they found themselves in the relegation zone with three draws and four losses in mid-September. However, they were able to turn things around with an impressive 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, followed by victories over Millwall, Norwich City, and Plymouth Argyle. They went into the second international break with an improved 15 points from 11 games. In their most recent match against league leaders Leicester City, Swansea suffered a 3-1 defeat despite taking an early lead through Matt Grimes. Now in 17th place, Swansea will look to bounce back with a win in their upcoming home match on Tuesday and start another positive run of results to climb up the standings.
Swansea City Predicted Lineup
Rushworth; Key, Humphreys, Darling, Tymon; Grimes, Patino; Cullen, Paterson, Lowe; Yates
Watford form
They encounter another team who are aiming to climb up the table quickly after a slower than expected start. Currently, Watford is in 19th place after Valerien Ismael's appointment in the summer. This season, the Hornets had the goal of earning promotion back to the Premier League. However, they only managed to collect 10 points from their first 11 games before the October international break, with only two wins. One of those wins came against Birmingham City in mid-September, and in their next five matches, they only picked up two more points. They suffered three consecutive defeats against Leeds United, Middlesbrough, and Sunderland, but managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Cardiff City before the break with a goal from Vakoun Issouf Bayo. Returning to action on Saturday, Watford faced Sheffield Wednesday, who have yet to win a game, at Vicarage Road in their attempt to turn their fortunes around. Despite waiting over 80 minutes for a goal, Yaser Asprilla came off the bench and scored the decisive goal, earning Watford all three points. Now, with a quick turnaround and a trip to South Wales on Tuesday, Watford will aim to build on their crucial weekend victory and generate a series of positive results in the second tier of English football to move up the standings.
Watford Predicted Lineup
Bachmann; Ngakia, Hoedt, Sierralta, Lewis; Louza, Livermore, Kone; Asprilla, Bayo, Martins
Swansea City vs Watford Expert Tips
Both teams displayed contrasting forms before the international break, however, both experienced a change in fortunes over the weekend, adding to the excitement surrounding Tuesday's matchup. Watford possesses a higher level of skill than their current league standing implies, and we believe they will manage to avoid a loss in their match in South Wales. We anticipate a low-scoring draw or Watford win as the most probable result.
